The Group
Have you ever painted before? Beginners are always welcome.
Release your inhibitions and express yourself with ART. Come along to this class and learn something new. Bring your paints and paper and you will be surprised at what you can achieve.
Help and guidance will be given by other members who will be willing to share their experience. Some of us had never painted until we retired.
We have a library of art books and magazines which members can borrow.
You can do Watercolour, Gouache, Acrylics, or just sketching, whatever takes your fancy.
So come along and join our friendly group and have fun.
The Leader
One of my aims when I retired was to learn to paint so I signed up for a series of lessons, starting with the basics. What an eye opener this was! I had no idea that there were different types of paper, had never heard of burnt sienna, cerulean and many other wonderful names of colours. I was a complete novice and totally unaware of the fascinating world to which the amateur artist belongs.
Art has made me think how the world around me appears and how I would try and capture a scene or a mood on paper or canvas. Joining, and now leading, this art group gives me the opportunity to learn and share ideas with the members of the group, some of whom produce excellent art. I enjoy trying out different media and techniques and feel that I have entered a new world full of exploration into colour and form. I am not very proficient yet, but enjoying the journey and loving it.
