Verwood u3a Craft Workshops

The team meet three times a year to discuss and plan the workshops for the next ‘term’. These are influenced by interests and hobbies we are familiar with, or new crafts we have learned more recently.  If people have expressed an interest in a particular craft one or two of us may learn the basic skills needed to demonstrate that craft to others.

Craft workshops we have held include, Quilling, Decoupage, Christmas Tree Brooches, Christmas Decorations, Making Bunting, Kumihimo, Japanese Paper Folding, Embroidered Cards and Dorset Buttons.

Craft Workshops planned include: Paper Flowers, Decoupage, Cork Models, Card Making, Quilling and Beaded Suncatchers.

We are always open to new ideas and welcome any offers from u3a members to share a craft with us.  We will support them to run a Workshop with admin and sourcing the required materials.  In particular we are often asked about art related crafts, Appliqué, card making. If you are skilled in any of these crafts, please contact us.

The Craft Workshops are open to all members and places will be allocated on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. Each Workshop will have a limited number of places available, usually 15 – 20.

Please contact us if you wish to discuss any ideas you may have about sharing your crafting skills and knowledge.

February Craft Workshop

Diane Northam showed us how to make cards for Easter, Spring or Valentines Day.
We made the cards by quilling thin strips of paper to make heart and flower designs

Rosemary Jones showed us how to make Crepe paper flowers in October 2023 .
Decoupage Jars made at the craft Workshop on 6th September 2023
