Sugarcraft is the wonderful art of making lifelike flowers, models and cakes from sugar. I have been a hobby cake maker for many years, I baked my own wedding cake 43 years ago but did not have the courage to decorate it! Since then I have been on courses, joined the British Sugarcraft Guild and, after taking my City and Guilds in 2008, I started teaching adults and children which I enjoyed very much.
Sugar roses made at our very first session with just sugarpaste and a plastic bag!
Each session we will be making something different from cupcakes to a dragon cake and lifelike flowers.
You do not need any previous experience and I have plenty of equipment/tools you can borrow for each session but if you are in Tesco or Sainsburys you will find an inexpensive set of tools in the cake baking section, (last time I looked they were around the £5 mark) and these will be all that is required to create each subject/cake.
You will need to make or buy plain cup cakes or a sponge cake to bring along and decorate but will be given help and recipes for everything.
I am very much looking forward to holding these classes again. I retired at Christmas and moved to Verwood in February and hope to pass on lots of useful knowledge on baking and cake decorating. These sessions will be fun and creative and I look forward to meeting you all.
