The Group

Learned the basics of playing the ukulele but don’t know where to go next?

This group is aimed at amateur ukulele players with some basic knowledge of playing the ukulele and who are not ready or confident enough to play in the main Ukulele Group or maybe to family and friends.

(Beginners to the ukulele please click here)
(More experienced players click here)

You will need your own ukulele, music stand and the facility to print music sheets sent to you by email.

You will learn to play, with confidence, many songs that are harder than the beginners’ songs but not as hard as the experienced players can play.
We will be in a relaxed and friendly environment and above all playing the ukulele should be fun and enjoyable.

The Leader

I have been involved with music in one form or another for as long as I can remember.

My main instrument is Guitar but I also play ukulele, 6 string banjo and a little on keyboard.

I am group leader of Riverblue ~ Verwood u3a Ukulele Group (click here).
I was the vocalist for the rock-n-roll band “Ogri and the Cafe Racers” in my late fifties and until recently was singing with The Bourne2Sing Male Voice Choir
With the growing popularity of the ukulele and knowing how much pleasure this instrument gives, I decided to form a group with the u3a in Verwood.
So if you’d like to move on from a beginner to the next level then this group could be for you.
